Man found dead with stab wound to neck in east Macon

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide on Elder Street.

Lt. Randy Gonzalez of the sheriff's office said Thomas Knighton, 63, was found dead in his residence. Gonzalez said Knighton was found with a stab wound to the neck.

Gonzalez said a neighbor grew concerned after he hadn't seen Knight since Friday. The neighbor went to check Knighton's home and discovered his body. He immediately called 911.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said the autopsy will be performed Wednesday.

Jones said this is the fourth homicide in Bibb County in 2015.
