Bond granted for Warner Robins man charged with murder in death of infant son

PERRY -- A $50,000 bond was set Thursday for a Warner Robins man charged with murder and aggravated assault in the death of his 11-month-old son.

The bond for 26-year-old Charles Michael Taylor includes electronic monitoring and house arrest with the exception of travel to and from work. He works for an auto repair business, his arrest and booking report shows.

The bond was agreed upon by prosecutors and the defense.

“We just think it is reasonable under the circumstances,” Assistant District Attorney Clif Woody said.

Taylor will enter a plea of not guilty, said his Warner Robins attorney, Carl Veline.

“This is just a terrible case with a terrible set of circumstances,” he said.

Taylor told authorities he dropped his son, Peyton Taylor, in his Warner Robins home Dec. 14, 2013. But medical workers do not think the injuries could have been accidental, authorities have said.

The boy died a week later.

Both Clifton and Veline declined comment on the facts of the case.

Taylor had not posted bond as of Thursday afternoon, online jail records show. He has been jailed since his arrest July 10.
