Former Macon banker pleads guilty to child porn charge
A former Macon banker serving a federal prison sentence for possession of child pornography pleaded guilty Thursday to state charges alleging he distributed pornography.
J. Lee Anderson III, 47, pleaded guilty in Bibb County Superior Court to two counts of sexual exploitation of children and was sentenced to serve eight years in prison, followed by 12 years on probation.
The sentence will run simultaneously with his 70 months in federal prison, leaving him with about three years in state prison following his federal release, said Franklin J. Hogue, Anderson’s lawyer.
A child molestation charge and an additional count of sexual exploitation of children were dismissed in connection with the plea agreement, prosecutor Nancy Scott Malcor said.
Anderson, a former employee of Colonial Bank, pleaded guilty to the federal charge in July 2009.
Federal prosecutors have said authorities found 276 images containing child pornography on Anderson’s computer and five video clips on a DVD.
The plea in Bibb County Superior Court stems from Anderson’s distributing two images of young girls to other Internet users, Malcor said.
Hogue said Anderson has denied guilt in connection with the molestation charge.
