Warner Robins declares state of emergency after severe weather

Warner Robins is in a state of emergency after severe weather struck the city Friday morning.

High wind and rain damaged public and private areas of the city, including North Houston Road, Green Street, Williams Street, Bernard Drive, Willow Avenue, Woodlawn Avenue and North Davis Drive. The damage continues east to City Hall and Armed Forces Boulevard, according to a Warner Robins police news release.

Electricity and traffic signals may still be out in some areas. Roadways closed as of 5 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016, included: North Davis Drive, McArthur Boulevard, Sarah Drive, Williams Street, Mimosa Drive and Jay Drive.

On Monday, Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters will assist in clearing debris.
