A Roberta woman on Sunday instantly became the owner of a really nice home in Warner Robins.

Hilda Dukes was announced as the winner of the St. Jude Dream Home in The Tiffany subdivision. The home is valued at $395,000. Her name was selected in a drawing.

The raffle raised $703,400 to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Andy Hoffman, construction specialist with the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway program, said the giveaway began in 1991. He said this year the program is on pace for the first time to raise over $30 million in childhood cancer research, as well as for other serious childhood diseases. Homes will given away in 36 communities across the nation this year.

“It’s really encouraging to see the work that’s going on here in Georgia,” he said.

Bryan Olf, owner of Trinity Built Homes, built the home along with the help of many volunteers. He said it’s a 5-bedroom, 4-bath home that was built just for the giveaway.

“It’s got some nice features where you feel like you are stepping back in time,” he said.
