Second teen dies after fiery Monroe County crash

A second teen has died from injuries sustained in a fiery crash in Monroe County early Saturday morning.

Tristan Anderson, 19, of Forsyth, died Tuesday after being airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta on Saturday, according to a Wednesday news release from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. Anderson and two others were ejected from a Jeep Wrangler that left the roadway while traveling north on Ga. 42 near Sidney Woods Drive about 3:45 a.m., sheriff's Sgt. Lawson Bittick said.

The Jeep was engulfed in flames and had overturned several times, Bittick said.

Anderson is believed to be the driver. Passenger Devin-Michael Day, 19, was pronounced dead hours after the crash. Patrick Carter, 20, was taken to a Macon hospital by ambulance and has been treated and released, Bittick said.
