The man who fell 40 feet from a walkway at the Bibb County Kumho Tire facility in November has died.

Luis Ramirez, 19, of West Point, was pronounced dead at about 5:30 p.m. Monday at Medical Center, Navicent Health, said Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones. Ramirez died of intracranial hemorrhaging.

"(Ramirez) was inside the building on one of the walkways, and that walkway was attached to the ceiling," Linda Howard, spokeswoman for the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, told The Telegraph in November. "(Other workers) said he lost his footing, and that's how he fell."

Ramirez worked for a construction company, not Kumho.

The Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration arrived at Kumho within a few hours of the accident, and an investigation into Ramirez's fall was opened.

Information from Telegraph archives was used in this report.
