Macon sets more cold records
Temperatures will be on the rise in Macon this weekend after the city set a record low Friday morning.
Just before 3 a.m., the National Weather Service recorded 18 degrees, which breaks the record of 21 set in 1958.
The record for coldest high temperature for Feb. 20 also fell Friday. The previous record was 42 degrees, but Macon only reached 37.
The day before, on Thursday, the high of 34 degrees shattered the record of 43 in 1972 for the coldest maximum temperature for Feb. 19.
