YKK announces leadership changes

YKK Corporation of America promoted John Smith to president of YKK Inc., president of Tape Craft Corp. and YKK North and Central America Group Fastening business leader. Smith started his career with YKK as an intern at the Macon plant in the VF and MF1 dye departments for two summers when he was a college student. He was hired full time in 1982 to work in outside sales. During his 33-year career, he has been responsible for sales throughout the East coast.

In addition to these two U.S.-based companies, Smith will oversee six operating companies in Canada, Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras and Colombia.

Oliver Stepe was named president of YKK AP America Inc., which has made commercial building products in Dublin since 1992. Part of the global YKK Group and a subsidiary of YKK Corporation of America, YKK AP America was started in 1991 in the Southeastern United States with an initial focus as a supplier in the commercial entrance, storefront and curtain wall market

Succeeding Stepe as the vice president of sales and marketing for the commercial group will be Mike Turner, who most recently oversaw marketing and technical services. Current president Max Mizota will assume the role of chairman of YKK AP America Inc.

Administrator at Bolingreen Health receives award

The American College of Health Care Administrators presented Michael Barry, administrator at Bolingreen Health & Rehabilitation, the Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award. He was one of 41 recipients nationwide who received the award for skilled nursing center leadership excellence.

Navicent Health awards nurses during professionals week

In recognition of National Nurses Week in May, Navicent Health recognized nurses for their achievements.

The awards went to Libby Fuqua, excellence in leadership; Judy Gay, excellence in advanced practice; Allison McDonald, excellence in evidence-based practice, research and education; Joshua Pfieffer, excellence in general medicine; Shirley Wesley-Lawson, excellence in post-acute care; Tonya McClain, excellence in ambulatory and community care; Gordy Joris, excellence in emergency and critical care; Kaci Gerhardt, excellence in pediatric care; Julie Bailey, excellence in clinical support services; Sabrina Hering, excellence in specialty services; Lora Rice, excellence in surgical services; Sheryl Adams, excellence in kindness; Meryl Montgomery, excellence in mentoring; Samantha Hart, excellence in spirit; and Kaydee Boyt, Rising Star Award.

ASP names public relations and communications associate

Macon-based ASP Franchising LLC, the parent company to America’s Swimming Pool, expanded its team by adding Stephanie Fritz as a public relations and communications associate. She also is responsibile for web content and social media management of franchise owners. Prior to joining ASP, she was the programs director for Macon Arts Alliance in Macon.

Bibb Medical Society elects officers

The Bibb Medical Society has selected officers and board members for 2016.

Robert Lane, anesthesiologist, is the 2016 president of Bibb County Medical Society. He practices with American Anesthesiology of Georgia LLC in Macon. Maria Bartlett, cardiologist, is immediate past president. Bartlett practices with Heart of Georgia Cardiology. Eric Roddenberry, obstetrician and gynecologist, is president-elect. He practices with Obstetrics & Gynecology Specialists. Jonathan Dean, pulmonologist, is secretary and editor. Arthur Schwartz Jr., radiologist, is treasurer.

Other officers are directors-at-large Robert Parel, I. J. Shaker and John Rogers. Michael Greene is parliamentarian, and Rana Munna is historian. Additionally, William Brooks serves as a director of the Medical Association of Georgia with Robert Jones as an alternate director.

Houston Lake Country Club hires new director

Houston Lake Country Club appointed Marc Bloechlinger as its food and beverage director. Bloechlinger has nearly four decades of extensive managerial and instructional expertise with organizations including The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co., Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, Georgia World Congress Center and Callaway Gardens Resort.

He is originally from Geneva, Switzerland.
