Two Macon-based ambulance services form company
Two Macon-based emergency medical service organizations have joined forces.
Navicent Health Emergency Medical Services and Mid Georgia Ambulance have formed ConnectHealth, a new, not-for-profit organization to enhance the efficiency of emergency care services to Middle Georgia, according to a news release.
Dr. Dennis Ashley, medical director of trauma services at Navicent Health, will serve as medical director of the new organization.
Through the venture, Navicent and Mid Georgia Ambulance are bringing together their respective emergency medical services in Baldwin, Bibb, Jones and Twiggs counties to work jointly on the delivery of quality emergency care services.
ConnectHealth will be led by a new board of directors, with representation from both organizations, the release stated. Leaders from Navicent EMS and Mid Georgia Ambulance plan to integrate the organizations by the end of the year.
Mid Georgia Ambulance is a member organization of Community Health Services of Georgia.
