Woman driving motorcycle killed on Rocky Creek Road in Macon
A woman driving a motorcycle was killed Sunday afternoon on Rocky Creek Road.
Debora Patterson-Curry, 54, of Macon was driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle in the 1700 block of Rocky Creek Road when a van pulled out in front of her, Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said. The crash happened about 4:45 p.m., and Patterson-Curry was pronounced dead at 5:10 p.m. due to blunt force trauma at the Medical Center, Navicent Health, he said.
"She had just left the (Macon) Christmas parade," he said. "She was riding her bike in the Christmas parade. ... I just got through talking to her. I know her and husband."
The van, a 1997 GMC Safari, was driven by Lilla Hill, 89, of Macon, said Bibb County sheriff's Deputy Clay Williams. Hill pulled out from the Autumn Trace Apartments where it is believed she lived, he said.
Hill also was taken to the Medical Center and was listed in stable condition later Sunday. Hill's brother was a passenger and was not injured, Williams said.
The wreck is still being investigated, and no charges have been filed so far, he said.
