Matt Panaggio, who played one season with the Mercer basketball program, is transferring, according to an announcement from head coach Bob Hoffman on Monday.
Panaggio redshirted in 2013-14 and played with the Bears in the 2014-15 season. He played in 29 games and averaged 0.6 points per game, shooting 33.3 percent from the floor, 40 percent from 3-point range and 57.1 percent from the free-throw line.
“We are excited for Matt and his future,” Hoffman said. “Matt was a great teammate and student-athlete here at Mercer and helped our program reach new levels of success over the past two seasons. We wish Matt nothing but the best as he moves forward with his basketball and academic career.”
Panaggio had career highs in minutes (20) and points (six) in Mercer’s 72-70 win over Stony Brook in the first round of the CBI.
