Georgia Southern kicked off preseason practice Monday with more than two-and-a-half hours of work with an emphasis on ball security and tackling near the end of the session.
“They have to get used to it,” Georgia Southern head coach Willie Fritz said. “Nobody plays both ways in college like you did in high school. They have to learn to give maximum effort at all times, and they’ll get it.”
Entering its second season under Fritz, Georgia Southern was picked to repeat as the Sun Belt Conference champion after winning the title with an undefeated record in its initial season in the conference.
