Georgia College assistant softball coach Kayla Lucas has been hired as Young Harris’ head coach.
Lucas spent four seasons with Georgia College, including being named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II National Assistant Coach of the Year in 2014. During Lucas’ four seasons, the Bobcats advanced to the NCAA Regional three times, including a 2015 season that saw the team set a program record for wins (47) and advance to the NCAA Super Regionals for the first time in program history.
“I want to thank (athletics director) Wendell Staton and (head coach) Jamie Grodecki for the opportunity they provided me at Georgia College,” Lucas said. “I also want to thank the entire Milledgeville community for your continued support of our softball program.”
