Macon native Trelanne Moore is returning home to work as an assistant coach for the Mercer women’s basketball program.
Moore worked one season as the head assistant coach at Francis Marion, an NCAA Division II program in Florence, South Carolina. Before that, she spent three seasons as the head coach at Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Phenix City, Alabama, after working as an assistant coach with the program from 2009-11 and Columbus State for the 2007-08 season.
Moore played collegiately at Hiawasee Community College from 2000-02 and Columbus State from 2002-04.
“We are pleased to complete our coaching staff with the addition of Trelanne Moore,” Mercer head coach Susie Gardner said in a release. “She is originally from Macon, so we are excited that she will be able to promote our program and generate more interest from the great fans here in our town. Tre has been a head coach and has been responsible for all aspects of a basketball program, which translates nicely with our current staff. I am thrilled with all of our additions that have taken place this summer, and I am looking forward to all of the new ideas that each coach will bring.”
