Several state teams picked for NCAA golf regionals

Georgia and Georgia Tech are headed to the same NCAA golf regional after they were picked in the tournament field Monday.

They are joined in the field by Georgia Southern, Georgia State, GRU Augusta and Kennesaw State.

Georgia and Georgia Tech are headed to Rancho Santa Fe, California, while GRU Augusta and Kennesaw State will both play in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Georgia Southern will play in Noblesville, Indiana, while Georgia Tech will play in Lubbock, Texas.

Also, Mercer’s Trey Rule, a Gatewood product, earned his third straight NCAA appearance. He will play as an individual in Chapel Hill.
