The Atlanta Braves announced Monday morning that they completed a four-player trade with the St. Louis Cardinals, sending outfielder Jason Heyward and right-handed pitcher Jordan Walden to the Cardinals for right-handed pitcher Shelby Miller and minor-league right-handed pitcher Tyrell Jenkins.
Miller, 24, has a 26-18 record with a 3.33 ERA in 69 career major league outings (63 starts) and 370 innings pitched. He has started 31 games in each of his first two full seasons.
Jenkins, 22, went 6-5 with a 3.28 ERA in 13 starts for Single-A Palm Beach in 2014.
Heyward spent five seasons with the Braves, hitting .262 with 84 home runs and 292 RBI.
