After qualifying through stroke play at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, Milledgeville’s Ashlan Ramsey won her first-round match of the match-play portion of the tournament Wednesday.
Ramsey defeated Harin Lee of Bayside, N.Y., 6 and 5 to move into the second round. Ramsey plays Madeleine Sheils of Boise, Idaho, at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday in the second round.
The tournament is being played at The Country Club in Cleveland.
