Players to watch in Middle Georgia:

Josh Abrams, WR, Mount de Sales

Abrams has elite size (6-foot-4 and maybe still growing) and athleticism to become a top recruit.

Donte Beckham, DB, Baldwin

Beckham had seven interceptions as a junior, and he is one of the most dangerous kick rerturners in the state.

Jontavious Carter, WR, Crisp County

Carter is a 6-4, 210-pound wide receiver who caught 48 passes for 630 yards and six touchdowns as a junior.

Josh Chester, DL, Northside

The mammoth Eagles’ defensive lineman should draw plenty of interest from colleges.

Leonard Floyd, ATH, Dodge County

The 6-5, 215-pound junior already holds offers from Alabama, Florida and Georgia. The all-state pick could play defensive end, outside linebacker or tight end in college.

Kaleb Nobles, QB, Fitzgerald

Undersized at 5-8, Nobles makes up for any height issues with a lightning-quick release and good decision making.

Kalo Oglesby, LB, Southwest

The playmaking linebacker reminds some of former Westside linebacker Julian Burnett.

Myles Swain, ATH, Mount de Sales

Swain’s versatility should make him an intriguing prospect. He can play running back, receiver or defensive back.

Marteze Waller, RB, Putnam County

Waller led the entire state with 2,155 rushing yards. He has good size at 5-11, 200 pounds.

David Whipple, QB, Wilkinson County

Whipple could play quarterback or receiver at the next level, but his size and speed make him an attractive receiver prospect.
