Our high school editor, Jonathan Heeter, is reporting Georgia got a commitment from Nick Marshall. Here is Jonathan's breaking news short:
Nick Marshall, the All-Middle Georgia Football Player of the Year and Basketball Player of the Year, committed to Georgia on Tuesday night.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Wilcox County star picked the Bulldogs over Alabama, Florida State and Georgia Tech among others. He will play both basketball and football for the Bulldogs.
A standout quarterback for the Patriots, Marshall committed to Georgia as a defensive back. Scout.com ranks him as the ninth best player in Georgia.
Marshall led the Patriots to their first ever state championship in football in 2009. He almost repeated the feat with the basketball team, but the Patriots lost in the Final Four.
