Plenty of Middle Georgians involved with bowl games

The college football bowl season begins with five games Saturday, and there are many Middle Georgians involved in the bowl games this season.

Interestingly enough, former Peach County standout quarterback Bryan Ellis will be calling the plays for Western Kentucky in the Boca Raton Bowl on Tuesday against Memphis.

Ellis is Western Kentucky’s wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator. Jeff Brohm, the team’s head coach through this season, recently was hired to take over at Purdue, which shook up the Western Kentucky coaching staff and gave Ellis the chance to call plays.
