Gonzalez’s single leads South Bend to 6-4 win over Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -- Eric Gonzalez hit a two-run single in the seventh inning, leading the South Bend Cubs to a 6-4 win over the Bowling Green Hot Rods on Tuesday.

The single by Gonzalez scored Delvin Zinn and Christopher Morel and was the game's last scoring play.

Starter Derek Casey (2-1) got the win while Nick Sprengel (0-2) took the loss in relief in the Midwest League game.

Wander Franco homered and singled, scoring two runs for the Hot Rods.
