Ryan Michel's goal with 2:26 left in overtime and a goal and two assists from Jake Trask lifted the Macon Mayhem to a 4-3 road win over the Mississippi RiverKings on Saturday night.
Macon beat Mississippi for the second straight night, and the Mayhem have now won four of their past five games. Macon increased its lead over Columbus to four points for eighth place in the SPHL playoff race. The top eight teams make the playoffs.
The Mayhem are two points behind seventh-place Louisiana, and those teams play Sunday afternoon in Louisiana.
