Former Westside standout Owen Williams picked Georgia Southern as a senior in high school, and eventually decided he may have undersold himself.

Williams has become a beast in the weight room for the Vols, perhaps the biggest beast on the team.
He turned heads in the spring with 37 reps on the bench press, which the Chattanooga Times Free Press reported would have tied for the lead at the NFL combine that month.
Injuries last season held Williams’ numbers down, to 21 tackles, two for loss and two sacks in 12 of the Vols’ 13 games.
The 6-foot-2, 295-pounder, who spent a season at Butler Community College, opens camp as a starter at noseguard.
