The GHSA changed its executive committee meeting schedule for the 2015-16 academic year, moving up the fall meeting a month and delaying the spring meeting a week.
The fall meeting is now set for Aug. 15-17 at the Macon Marriott City Center, and reclassification is on the agenda. The association is expected to adopt changes to its classification setup, including tweaks to the current public-private split among small schools and the possible creation of a “Big 44” classification.
Several proposals are still on the table. One is expected to be selected by the reclassification subcommittee on Sunday, Aug. 16, with the full executive committee casting the final vote the next day.
Also on the agenda is a proposal by the tennis committee to move the sport to the fall sports season in 2016, as is a proposal to grant free admission to teachers from participating schools to football playoff games through the semifinals.
