Stratford hires baseball head coach

Stratford named Tyler Brown as its baseball head coach Friday.

Brown, a Stratford graduate, is currently the softball and baseball head coach at Windsor. Brown led Windsor's softball team to a GISA Final Four appearance in 2013 and a Class AA championship in 2014. This year's Windsor baseball team has advanced to the Class AA semifinals.

Brown served as a baseball assistant at Stratford for three seasons and softball assistant for two seasons before moving to Windsor.

He batted .371 during his career at Stratford and had a 22-6 pitching record with two no-hitters. He holds the Stratford single-season record for most at bats (109) in a season and is fifth in the program with 42 hits in one season.
