Four Middle Georgia teams will be at home when the GHSA Class A baseball playoffs begin on Friday.
Seven area teams will continue playing after the GHSA released the Class A private and public school brackets Wednesday after appeals were heard.
That process didn’t really affect any of the private schools. Mount de Sales appealed to have its rating improved from 11.14 to 11.12, and ended up losing rating points and a spot, from 13th to 14th. Stratford maintained its spot at 15.
But Telfair County fell over to the season-ending side of the fence, dropping from out of the playoff list as Commerce, Lanier County, Irwin County and Portal all won appeals. That dropped the Trojans to 19th.
Treutlen, Hawkinsville, Tattnall and FPD will open the playoffs at home, with Treutlen and Tattnall holding home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
