Carror Wright will join the Georgia High School Association as the Associate Director for Compliance at the end of the school year.
Wright, who announced his resignation as the head football coach and athletics director at Southwest on Monday, will be responsible for investigating eligibility matters and association rules violations. He will also serve as the GHSA liason to high school and college coaches with administrative duties in the coaches’ education program. He will also supervise GHSA initiatives in sportsmanship.
Wright spent time as an assistant coach at Johnson County, Worth County and Lowndes, among other places.He led programs at Terrell County, Northeast, Dougherty and Southwest. Wright went 82-102 in 18 seasons as a head coach. He led Dougherty to the state championship game in 2005.
Wright coach six years at Southwest, leading the Patriots to an 8-3 record in 2008. It equaled the best record in school history. The Patriots made the state playoffs twice under his watch.
