The core of the current Dublin basketball team sat on the bench as freshmen when the Irish won a state championship in 2006.
But the seniors grew up and they earned another championship to bookend their careers by beating Blessed Trinity, 79-64, on Saturday to win the GHSA Class AA boys title at the Coliseum.
Senior Rashard Smith finished with 10 points and 11 assists in his final championship game. Chris Smith and Sherrard Brantley each scored 13 first-half points as the Irish built a large lead heading into the half.
