Class AAA girls: Lakeview ends Baldwin's title hopes

Senior Kayla Weaver was on fire in every phase of the game, especially from 3-point range, to lead Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe to a 76-49 win Friday night in a GHSA girls Class AAA semifinal at the Macon Coliseum.

LFO advances to face Carrollton in Saturday's championship at 7 p.m. LFO beat Carrollton 44-38 on Feb. 21 in Region 6-AAA action.

Baldwin trailed by double figures for good on Weaver's 3-pointer with 2:50 remaining in the second quarter, the shot giving Lakeview a 26-16 lead. Weaver scored 10 points in the third quarter as the Lady Warriors extended a 32-17 halftime lead to 49-33 entering the fourth quarter. She drained two 3-pointers and was perfect on five free-throw tries.

Weaver finished with 32 points.

The Bravettes ended their season at 28-3. The Lady Warriors, who haven't lost since Jan. 10, improved to 29-3.
