Perry outfielder Andrew Tarrer won’t play baseball far from home, but Baldwin standout Zykeria Williams will be on a track that’s a solid hike from Milledgeville.
Tarrer signed with Mercer on Wednesday, the same day that Williams signed her letter of intent with Indiana. Also, Jones County softball standout Cheyanne Mosteller signed with Gordon State.
Tarrerr batted .368 for the Panthers’ last season, helping them to a 15-13 record. He had two doubles and 16 RBI, scoring 16 times.
Williams is among the state’s top sprinters, and has competed on the national level for several years.
She finished second in the 200 meters as a freshman at the GHSA Class 4A meet, and helped Baldwin to a second-place finish a year later while helping the 4x100 team set a state mark. She was an All-Middle Georgia first-team selection last spring in the 100-meter hurdles, and honorable mention in the 200.
Indiana finished ninth in the Big Ten meet last spring, and tied for 37th in the NCAA meet.
