Georgia will be without one of its starting outside linebackers for Saturday’s game against Southern.
Sophomore Davin Bellamy was not dressed out during Georgia’s Dawg Walk through Sanford Stadium. If Bellamy has an injury, it’s unknown at this time. Bellamy has started Georgia’s previous two games against Vanderbilt and South Carolina. Georgia head coach Mark Richt previously stated Bellamy earned the starting role by being a great run defender.
With Bellamy out, sophomore Lorenzo Carter could be line for a start and additional playing time on more than just third-down and passing situations.
Earlier this week, Richt ruled inside linebacker Reggie Carter out due to a nagging shoulder injury. However, it’s worth noting he was dressed in his full uniform during the Dawg Walk. That stated, Carter didn't go through an individual drill during pre-game warm-ups and is unlikely to play.
Sophomore fullback Christian Payne (fibula) and freshman defensive back Rico McGraw (knee) will not play Saturday.
