ATHENS -- Georgia freshman receiver Terry Godwin is dealing with a shoulder injury.
A reporter spotted Godwin at Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall with a sling on his shoulder. Teammate and fellow receiver Reggie Davis said others in the position group will have to pick up the slack now that Godwin is down for the time being.
"We have to pick up on reps on that too but it’s only going to make us better," Davis said.
It's unknown the timetable Godwin would possibly be out for. He's the second receiver to sustain an injury during preseason practice.
Sophomore Isaiah McKenzie pulled his hamstring late last week and will miss some practice time, though head coach Mark Richt said he isn't concerned that it's a long-term ailment.
Godwin came to Georgia as a five-star prospect out of Callaway High School. Godwin was running with the second team before the injury.
"Once I found out he was a baseball player I knew that he had good hand-eye coordination," Davis said. "He learns very well. I think he has a very good future ahead of him."
