ATHENS -- Former Georgia running back Todd Gurley is expected to begin training camp with the St. Louis Rams on the non-football injury list, according to a report from NFL Media.
Gurley was taken by the Rams with the 10th overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft, though he’s still recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Gurley tore his left ACL in the fourth quarter of last season’s 34-7 win over Auburn. It's unknown when Gurley will be cleared for football activities.
Gurley appeared in six games for the Bulldogs in 2014 and rushed for 911 yards and nine touchdowns. Before tearing his ACL, Gurley had been suspended for four games for accepting impermissible benefits in exchange for signing memorabilia. Following the season, Gurley bypassed his final year of eligibility and declared for the draft.
