ATHENS -- A former Georgia commit has pledged elsewhere.
On Monday, four-star running back BJ Emmons wrote on his personal Twitter account that he committed to Alabama.
“After a long process of recruiting and college visits I’d like to finally say that I’ve verbally committed to the University of Alabama,” Emmons wrote. “Roll Tide baby.”
Emmons, of Morganton, N.C., previously gave an oral commitment to Georgia’s coaching staff before backing out.
The Bulldogs have 12 commitments for the class of 2016 and are still hoping to land a running back. Options include Woodward Academy’s Elijah Holyfield, who is the son of boxing great Evander Holyfield, and Carlin Fils-Aime of Naples, Fla.
