Recruiting update: Georgia heavy on early in-state commits

Georgia's most high-profile recruit for next year is from the Pacific time zone. The rest of the class, however, so far has a heavy Georgia flavor.

Tyler Clark, a defensive tackle from Americus, became the 10th member of Georgia's 2016 class on Friday, committing at the Americus Sumter County High School spring game.

Clark, a consensus four-star recruit, is the eighth member of the class from within Georgia's borders. The two who aren't are quarterback Jacob Eason, the elite prospect from Washington state, and cornerback Tyrique McGhee from Florida.

There's a long way to go until February, obviously, but for comparison's sake half of this year's 30-man class (including UAB transfer Jake Ganus) was from out-of-state. And the year before, 10 out of the 21 signees were from out-of-state.
