ATHENS - At least one member of Georgia's 30-man signing class will not be making it to campus this year.
Gary McRae, an outside linebacker from south Georgia, will enroll at a junior college instead, Dawgs247.com reported on Wednesday. McRae, who attends Randolph-Clay High School, aims to get the qualifying scores to join Georgia for the 2017 season.
McRae (6-foot-4, 220 pounds), was rated as a four-star recruit by the 247Sports Composite, which culls the rankings of the major recruiting services. Given Georgia's depth at linebacker, it would have been tough for McRae to play right away.
So far McRae is the only member of the signing class who is not projected to make it to campus this year. Eight members of the class enrolled early.
