ATHENS - Georgia isn't planning on donning black uniforms Saturday. But head coach Mark Richt may go black himself.
Richt was pressed on his radio show Monday night by fans to go with a blackout, in what will be the final home game for quarterback Aaron Murray and the other seniors. Murray mentioned earlier in the season the possibility of wearing black in the final home game.
It's not possible for Georgia to wear black uniforms because the team doesn't have them in stock, according to Richt. (A caller followed up by offering to call Nike to order them, leading Richt to reply that "I wish it were that easy.")
But while the team will stay in red, Richt had a suggestion for fans: They can wear black if they want.
"The team doesn't have to wear black jerseys to get a blackout, do they? It'd probably help," Richt said, laughing.
Then Richt offered to join in.
"If the fans want to black it out, I'll wear black, how about that?" he said. "I'll go all Johnny Cash."
