Jarvis Jones makes trip to Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. - There's still a chance Jarvis Jones, who didn't practice all week, will be able to play at Kentucky on Saturday night.

The star linebacker made the trip with the rest of his team on Friday, UGA spokesman Claude Felton confirmed. Jones has been dealing with a sprained ankle, which kept him out of practice Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Head coach Mark Richt declined on Wednesday to give a prognosis on Jones' chances of playing. But he also said they wouldn't hold Jones out just so he could be fully healthy for the Florida game next week.

The fact Jones is on the trip doesn't guarantee he will play, or how much he'll play. The team has a 70-man travel roster, but a number of other players are known to be out.

Justin Scott-Wesley, a redshirt freshman receiver, is a late addition to the injury list. Scott-Wesley is missing the game with a strained hamstring, according to his Twitter feed.

If Jones can't play, freshman Jordan Jenkins will get the start in his place. Jenkins started when Jones missed the Florida Atlantic game with a strained groin.
