Middle Georgia native and former Atlanta Braves relief pitcher John Rocker will be on the next season of “Survivor,” according to Entertainment Weekly.
Rocker will compete on the next season of CBS’ “Survivor: San Juan del Sur — Blood vs. Water” along with his girlfriend Julie McGee.
Rocker pitched six seasons in the major leagues, including three-and-a-half seasons with the Braves. He had 38 saves in 1999, the last season the Braves made the World Series.
His career took a rocky turn after he made controversial comments to Sports Illustrated about homosexuals and immigration later in 1999.
Rocker graduated from First Presbyterian Day School in Macon before being selected in the 18th round of the 1993 MLB Draft.
