Northside assistant boys basketball coach Scott Wynn has been hired as the new head boys coach at Mount de Sales.
Wynn takes over for Travis Dotterer, who left earlier this month to take an assistant coaching job at Newberry College. Mount de Sales athletics director Robert Slocum was already familiar with Wynn, who coached the Cavaliers' middle school team in the 1998-99 school year. Wynn also was a student at Mount de Sales for his ninth-grade year.
"I know I wanted to be somewhere familiar when I became a head coach," said Wynn, who graduated from Northside and coached there for the past eight years.
"Northside was a good place to be as an alumnus. I'd had other opportunities in the past, but they didn't fit. This was the right situation."
