Headed for a fall
The vicious verbal attacks directed at Denver quarterback Tim Tebow for openly expressing his Christian faith illustrate all too well just how screwed up our society has become. Contrary to the misguided articulations of our 44th president that America is not a Christian nation, indicate that Obama’s Muslim indoctrination has clouded the view of the country he was elected to lead. The fact that political correctness has reached the nauseating level that we witness today seems to grant permission for “occupiers” and other derelict malcontents to slander and denigrate people of faith like Tebow.
I don’t know where our nation is headed, but I do know that if ministers of faith like Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan or Rev. Jeremiah Wright or fire breathing hate monger Father Michael Pfleger or President Barack Obama are what’s good in America and Tim Tebow represents what is bad; then we are all very near to an inevitable demise.

Just when I thought I could take a few days off over the holidays, I see where Newt Gingrich has suggested that the federal government should arrest “activist” judges who render “controversial” opinions. To save us both some time, here’s three days’ worth of food for thought:
1. All court decisions are controversial for someone, otherwise we would not need courts.
2. Perhaps when it’s their turn, the Dems could get rid of “reactionary” judges who make (what else) “controversial” decisions.
3. The United States Constitution has lost some of it’s panache.
Personally, I think Newt’s statement is controversial enough to warrant his arrest. Should I run for president?

Every year the Maggie Bear project gives stuffed animals to underprivileged children attending the Mentors Project Christmas party. This year, like previous years, saw an increase in the number of children served. I would like to thank the members of St. Paul’s church, community members and all others for helping us make this project successful once again. A special thanks to Williams Toys on Vineville for their generous donation.

Prayer for today
Gracious and loving God, As we celebrate the birth of Christ during this season of the year, help us to show our thanks by showing love to others, not only at this time of year, but at all times. Remind us that you love all people, not just those like us. In the name of Jesus the Christ we pray. Amen.
