Candidates to face off for House District 136 debate

Two candidates will face off Thursday, less than two weeks before a scheduled special election to fill the state House District 136 seat.

Robert Dickey, a Republican from Musella, and Judye Sellier, a Republican from Fort Valley who is the widow of state Rep. Tony Sellier, will participate in a candidates forum starting at 6:30 p.m. inside Alderman Hall at The Welcome Center, 68 N. Lee Street, Forsyth.

Fort Valley Democrat Sharon Howard announced last week she was dropping out of the race becuase of medical concerns.The special election is scheduled for Feb. 15.

The seat became vacant after Tony Sellier died Nov. 30 from congestive heart failure.
