It’s Election Day in Middle Georgia. Polls closed at 7 p.m., but anyone still in line at that time will be allowed to vote. Nationally, our eyes will be focused on the presidential race. In Georgia, we’re also paying close attention to Amendment 1, which would allow the state to take over failing schools.
Locally, voters in Bibb County are voting on another Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, and residents of Roberta and Crawford County will decide whether to unify their governments. Some midstate voters — those in state House Districts 144 and 145 and state Senate District 13 — will also be voting on who to represent them in the statehouse.
