The Democratic Party of Georgia announced the start of its 2010 Coordinated Campaign by opening more than 10 campaign offices across the state.
A new office in Macon is located at 1680 Broadway, said Eric Gray, communications director for the state Democratic Party.
Former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin is the campaign chairwoman. Besides Franklin, the 2010 Coordinated Campaign steering committee includes vice chairs Dan Halpern and Macon resident Amy Morton, Macon City Council member Lauren Benedict, state Sens. Lester Jackson, Nan Orrock and Jason Carter, Reps. Calvin Smyre, Winfred Dukes, Pedro Marin, and Rashad Taylor, DeKalb County Sheriff Thomas Brown, Richard Ray of the AFL-CIO, and Sally Rosser, Ken Britt, Paul Horning, Wyc Orr, Jan Bryson and Melanie Goux, according to a statement from the state party.
