One day after entering the race for the open Ward III, Post 2, seat on the Macon City Council, candidate Michael Ryan announced Thursday he is no longer running.
Ryan said he found himself tailoring what he was saying to other people’s ideas while he was campaigning.“That’s not who I am,” Ryan said.
Ryan’s decision means the race to fill the seat formerly held by Alveno Ross will be between Democrats Henry Ficklin, a longtime councilman who made an unsuccessful mayoral run in 2007, and Ron Lemon, a local chiropractor. The election is Nov. 2.
