Iraq War veterans and the general public are invited to an event Friday afternoon in Central City Park.
Macon One Community Connections is sponsoring the Macon-Bibb County Iraqi Freedom Return Celebration from 2 to 4 p.m.
It’s to honor all those who served in the now-ended war in Iraq, said organizer Frank Dixon.
Soldiers in uniform are eligible for prizes at the event, including Mercer University basketball tickets and Georgia Sports Hall of Fame passes, he said.
Those who attend can hear gospel music from Latrice Smith, hip-hop from Que and alt-rock from Stranger than Most, in addition to several political speakers, according to an announcement from Macon One Community Connections.
The Macon Veterans Center will have counselors on site to offer aid for post-traumatic stress disorder.
