Words to the 48th Brigade:
On behalf of the city of Macon, I extend the sincere appreciation of a grateful community to you for your service in our armed forces. Your commitment to our nation and community speaks volumes. We recognize your values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage. It is extremely difficult for us to see you depart. We can only imagine how your families must feel. We extend this heartfelt message to say thank you and may God bless and watch over you and your family. May your hearts be comforted knowing that millions are supporting you. Your call to service is to work for the peace that we all wish for this world. Your departure should be a call to service for us here at home to promote peace and work for the success and security of our nation. We will hold our heads up high with pride because you represent America’s best. Again thank you for all that you do.
Macon Mayor Robert Reichert
