Robins Air Force Base closed to non-emergency personnel Monday as Irma approaches
Robins Air Force Base will be closed Monday to all non-emergency military and civilian personnel.
The base posted the notice to its Facebook page Sunday evening as Hurricane Irma approached Georgia.
The latest forecast predicts that sustained winds of 40-50 mph will begin to hit Bibb County at about 8 a.m. Monday. By 2 p.m. the wind gusts are expected to hit a peak of 55-65 mph, and that will keep up until about 9-10 p.m. Monday.
