Rutland High School was the target of an unspecified threat Friday morning.
A “social media threat” was made against the school, and Bibb County campus police and the Bibb Couny Sheriff’s Office investigated, said David Gowan, director of safety and risk management for the system.
“As a precaution, Rutland High School is having a modified school day, where movement will be restricted throughout the day; however, there is no lockdown at this time and students will move from class to class as normal and dismiss as normal,” Stephanie Hartley, the system’s communications coordinator, said in statement.
Some parents checked their children out of school early, Gowan said.
